Those old films and pictures can have new life by putting them into a video format. Enjoy the convenience of popping them into your VCR or DVD player. Or, if your equipment allows, have them put into a digital format and edit them yourself.
First step - Determine what order you want your film (or prints) to be transferred into. It is best to number them.
Second Step - Determine how much footage you have.
- 3” reels hold 50 feet of film
- 5” reels hold 200 feet of film
- 6” reels hold 300 feet of film
- 7” reels hold 400 feet of film
NOTE: 5” and larger reels often have a footage scale stamped into the side of them.
Third Step - decide which format you want your film transfer to end up on.
TO ESTIMATE YOUR COST, multiply your footage by the transfer rate, then, add the format cost.
